We’re headed to eastern Tennessee for the week and are thinking about doing some camping. It used to be that on weeks like this when I think I’ll have to be working during the trip, I would insist on staying in a hotel so that I would be able to have Internet access. But these days, not only do many campgrounds have wireless Internet access, most of us road warriors travel with a laptop and an air card. The air card gives my laptop access to the Internet from anywhere that is in range of a cell phone tower. In other words, if I can use my cell phone, I’ll also be able to do research on the Internet and get my email. I’m not quite to the point where I can do it all on a smartphone, but I guess we’re moving that way.
I don’t necessarily recommend working while on a camping trip, but if you must, don’t forget to add your wireless camping supplies to your camping checklist!
